Andy Warhol Treasures: The Illustrated Story of Andy Warhol's Life and Work

This beautifully illustrated biography, which includes over 20 items of facsimile memorabilia, much of it previously unpublished, follows the arc of his rags-to-riches life, from his early years in Depression-era Pittsburgh to his success as an illustrator in New York City in the 1950s to his transformation into a notorious Pop Artist, underground filmmaker, author, publisher, collector, recorder, and iconic celebrity.

Over 20 beautifully produced removable facsimile items sourced from his "time capsule" boxes now housed at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh give an unprecedented insight into Warhol's life and work in this unique and authoritative appreciation of this celebrated modern artist.

Facsimile Documents Include:
-Concertina greetings card drawn by Warhol but never actually produced.
-Announcement card for his first ever New York exhibition in 1952 15 Drawings Based on the Work of Truman Capote.
-Stencils Warhol used to create his Campbell's Soup paintings.
-Get-well card from Edie Sedgwick sent following his shooting by Valerie Solanas.

Matt Wrbican has been assistant archivist of The Andy Warhol Museum since 1991 and has curated more than 20 Warhol exhibitions. He is co-author of One Stop Warhol Shop (website, 1999), Andy Warhol's Time Capsule 21 (2003), Andy Warhol 365 Takes: The Andy Warhol Museum Collection (2004), and Andy Warhol's Time Boxes (2006). His knowledge of Warhol's life and times has assisted numerous other publications. He supervises Warhol's vast personal archives (including the Time Capsules) of more than 250,000 objects held by the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.

Geralyn Huxley is Curator of Film and Video at The Andy Warhol Museum. She has curated screenings of film and video by Andy Warhol and others as well as numerous programs of new work by film artists such as George Kuchar and Ken Jacobs. Geralyn oversees the Andy Warhol film collection and copyright at the museum, as well as the maintenance and preservation of the museum's extensive collection of original Warhol videotapes. She is co-author of One Stop Warhol Shop (website, 1999) and Andy Warhol 365 Takes: The Andy Warhol Museum Collection (2004). Previous to working at the Andy Warhol Museum she served for over 15 years as Assistant Curator of Film and Video at the Carnegie Museum of Art.
